- He takes a recovery session post training and shares pic in an ice bath
Only a handful of Indian cricketers in this modern time have been able to match Virat Kohli’s fitness standards. The thorough attention to workouts and recovery has made Kohli not only one of the fittest cricketers in India but also on the global stage.
In the United Arab Emirates, Indian Premier League 2020 will be held and Kohli has been taking part in some intense training with his team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Dubai. Recently he posted pictures on social media platform from one such training session where the RCB skipper is seen having a net session, playing football with his teammates as a warm-up exercise and then cooling himself down with an ice bath post training.
Virat Kohli captioned the post, “Proper session + proper humidity + great recovery @RCBTweets”.
RCB has reached the finale of the Indian Premier League in 3 occasions out of 12 seasons so far, however, have never managed to get hands on the trophy.
The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League has been moved out of the country owing to the rise in cases of the novel Coronavirus. India is the 3rd worst hit country in the world but could soon reach 2nd and overtake Brazil.
The 2020’s IPL will be played inside a bio-bubble following strict protocols and guideline including the social distancing norms, wearing a contact tracing badge among other precautionary measures.
Kohli has implored all players to adhere to the protocols and as they are “not here to have fun”.
Recently Kohli said, “We are all here to play cricket…The bio-bubble needs to be respected at all times for the tournament to happen eventually. We are not here to have fun and roam around and you know say that ‘I want to hang out in Dubai,’”.
