CSK To Face SRH, Ambati Rayudu, Dwayne Bravo Could Make A Return

Highlights:

  • CSK was the only team to have played 3 games in the first week of IPL 2020
  • CSK will play its IPL 2020 match after a week’s gap
  • CSK Vs SRH will be played at 7:30 PM (IST)

With having lost the last 2 matches in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League at the hands of Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings will be aiming for a victory and not have the tag of losing three games in a row when they face SunRisers Hyderabad later today.

CSK will return rejuvenated after a break of a week and will look to fix the mistakes they had made in the last two games of IPL 2020.

Luckily for CSK, the two injured star players of the team Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo are rumoured to be fit and could make a return to fix the balance of the team.

The heavyweight of the IPL has the arduous task of proving its critics wrong yet again. MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have been dented by withdrawals and injuries but they will have to make do with what they have and come up with a guard against the charged up David Warner-led SunRisers Hyderabad when the two teams clash in Dubai, today at 7:30 PM (IST).

Apart from Kings XI Punjab, Chennai Super Kings is the only team who have lost 2 consecutive matches and losing another will give them a hat-trick of losses in IPL 2020, and with CSK playing tonight, they would jot want that title on their heads.

CSK has only won one match in IPL 2020 which was their opening match against the defending champions Mumbai Indians.

However, poor batting performances Delhi and Rajasthan has led the team in yellow to sit at the bottom of the points table.

Having said this, good news for CSK is that their star from the opening match, Ambati Raydu, could be available for the match and his presence in the match could ease the pressure from Faf du Plessis, who has had to do the bulk of scoring with Shane Watson yet to hit his straps.

Additionally, Rayudu’s presence will also, hopefully, put Murali Vijay at ease and would put an end to his painful stint in the middle order.

Also, Dhoni needs to show some form with the bat and reassure fans about his ability to cause some serious damage to the bowling line up of the opposition.

Coming to SRH, they did not have a start of IPL 2020 which they would have imagined for themselves but the return of Kane Williamson has significantly changed their fortunes and was seen in their last clash which was against Delhi.

While the opening duo – captain David Warner and Jonny Bairstow – were the main contributors, Williamson added much needed steel to the weak middle order which helped SRH in the match. The duo of Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar also helped SRH put pressure on the opposition and record their first win even though they defended a rather average total from the tournament’s perspective.

Even though Sam Curran has been a great asset for CSK so far in the IPL 2020 campaign, it needs to be seen whether Dwayne Bravo will be able to play his first match or not after getting a green flag in the nets. Imran Tahir also has a case with Piyush Chawla failing to do some damage to the opposition’s batting order.
