In the ninth game, her opponent, Linette, secured the opening break of the match to take a 5-4 lead before serving out the first set in the next game.

In the second set, Fruhvirtova recovered, earning her maiden break in the eighth game to take a 5-3 advantage. Fruhvirtova consistently served out for the second set in the ninth game. Linette dropped the second set, but she quickly broke the third set and was up 4-1 after the opening five games.

With a break advantage and a 4-1 score, Linette had a break point that might have made it 5-1 in her favour. In a bid to overcome the deficit and secure a three-set victory, Fruhvirtova saved those break points and won the final five games of the match.
